Saint Bede’s is a non-selective preparatory school, therefore there are no specific entry requirements. However, children may be required to take an entry assessment to determine their level of ability, if they have not entered the school from the nursery school or if there are no adequate records from their previous school.
Scholarships and Bursaries
There are a limited number of bursaries available to parents who could not otherwise afford the fees. These are awarded at the discretion of the Headmasters.
Scholarships
This year the school is introducing a scholarship for entry into Form 2 (Year 3) for children of outstanding ability whose parents could not otherwise afford the fees. Candidates are invited to sit an IQ test, and papers in Maths and English. Parents will be required to complete a financial statement, which will be sent to you with the details of the Scholarships.
Music and sports scholarships are also available for children of outstanding ability, which will be awards of up to 30% of the fees for children starting at the age of 8.
